Preserve^TM  is the first and best formalin alternative glyoxal-based fixative solution designed for microwave fixation, and is now more affordable than ever. Developed exclusively for Energy Beam Sciences, this fixative is uniquely suited for extremely rapid, high quality tissue preparation in laboratory microwave devices.

The active ingredient in PreserveTM is glyoxal, not formaldehyde, so it presents no inhalation risk even when heated to recommended temperatures (55°C). Coupled with microwave processing, tissues can be embedded in less than 2 hours following removal from the patient. Fastest, most consistent results are obtained with Anatech's Prefer and EBS' PreserveTM used sequentially.

PreserveTM creates spectacular morphological patterns when used as directed. Additionally, specimens previously unfixed or fixed initially in zinc formalin, Z-Fix or Prefer will retain their immunoreactivity through microwave fixation in Preserve^TM. This eliminates the need for epitope enhancement for nearly all antigenic sites. As a result, immunostaining is simplified, more reliable and, in many cases, less expensive. Primary antibodies can be diluted significantly because of the greater antigenicity of the tissue. Background staining rarely occurs.
